Surfing – A Guide to a Healthy Lifestyle

We have learned how to surf but, what do really get from it? The process of learning how to surf and the actual surfing experience contribute to one’s physical and mental health.

Physically, surfing is a good fitness activity for one’s whole body is used for this sport. It strengthens one’s muscles especially in the upper back, thighs and legs, lower abdomen, and on one’s biceps and triceps. Surfing, especially during the training period, strengthens one’s chest, shoulders, and arms because of the repetitive strokes one’s arms have to work on while learning how to paddle while on the surf board. Surfing Holiday with almost all of one’s upper body parts working, paddling also works as a cardiovascular exercise. On the other hand, one’s upper and lower back together with the thighs and legs are strengthened while learning how to stand and balance oneself on the surf board.

Cuba looks to kids to recover faded boxing glory (AP)
