WWE Diva Eve Torres: Empowering Women

August 23rd, 2011

There is perhaps no current wrestler as beautiful as Eve Torres. She truly is one of the most beautiful women on earth. And having personally met her, I can also say that she is one of the nicest. She’s the two time WWE Champion and also spends a lot of her time helping to empower women.

This is important because today many women (despite the advancements made) still feel as though they have to meet some strict guideline as to what it means to be a “woman.”

Eve Torres takes those guidelines and body slams them! She’s a strong independent woman, yet she still has the care and devotion that women are known for. She inspires women of all ages to go after life with passion, and that’s something we need way more of in this day and age.

You can learn more about Eve Torres at her official website: http://EveTorres.com

ALL Golfers of ALL Levels Need Mental Training

May 2nd, 2011

From the beginning golfer to the experienced low handicapper, EVERYONE should incorporate mental training into their game of golf.

Prime examples are, of course, Tiger Woods who grew up with golf psychology being a part of his golfing education and will always be legendary for his mental toughness.

Another example is Rory McIlroy, who can forget the images of him crumbling in the last few holes of the Augusta Masters when he had been in the lead for 63 holes!

The moral of this little story is that it’s NEVER too early to learn how to incorporate golf psychology in your game and conversely, it’s never too late, even the old die hard ‘ golf mind training is all mumbo jumbo should see the light and realise that if they would only take the time to listen to a few golf hypnosis downloads, it would help them to acquire the mental edge over their opponents.

Golf Hypnosis Downloads are hugely popular, expecially when they are FREE, I listen to them all the time and it’s surprising how often a little snippet of calming information will pop into your mind just when you are on the course and the moments are getting stressful.

Give golf mental hypnosis training a try, you have nothing to lose, apart from your high scores!

Golf Schools For Women

November 26th, 2010

Golf is still a highly male dominated sport even as the LPGA has produced some well-known female golfers. Women often find themselves the target of golf course rangers who watch for any sign of slow play on the course. This can be quite intimidating especially to a new woman golfer.

There are golf schools which specialize in women-only courses. The advantage of enrolling in this type of course is that it takes the intimidation factor out of the equation. Although many of the instructors are men, the courses are tailored specifically for women. Many women are more comfortable learning in a female-friendly atmosphere. Competition tends to be less of a factor when the male of the species is not present.

The lessons and golf schools are designed with women in mind and are given in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure from the other students. Although the principles of a golf swing are universal, the methods used to teach them at a women’s golf school are gender-specific. Women of all athletic abilities are taught the proper grip, rotation, and how they can generate power in the golf swing.

Between the more enjoyable atmosphere and the lack of competitive pressure which is often present in a mixed environment, women’s golf schools offers a great way to learn the basics of golf. Or for those who are not beginners, a women’s golf school offers an opportunity to increase skills, resulting in lower scores, and therefore more enjoyment on the golf course.

Whether taking up golf as a beginner or seeking to improve the game, consider enrolling in a golf education designed with a woman in mind.

Fastpitch Softball Bats – The Best for 2010

June 24th, 2010

You can get softball bats made from wood, aluminum but all the top line bats are made from expensive compound plastics such as mylar or Kevlar. The ASA has to approve all bat materials before they can be used

Choosing a fastpitch softball bat that’s right for you is very important if you’re serious about your softball, however it’s not that difficult. But it would be a big mistake to go and buy a cheap bat off the shelf at your local hardware store. The one major change you can make to improve your game is to buy a new, high tech bat to suit your physique and batting style.

These days there are many quality brands of slow pitch and fast pitch softball bat available and it’s easy to become confused with the number of these brands and their different manufacturing materials, styles and reputed superior batting qualities. However, if you want to stay at the top of your game, you need to come to terms with these factors.

Daughter chose a Nokona glove as her favorite

June 10th, 2010

Our young daughter has resolved that softball is the sport and she’ll play 1st base.I’m thrilled, my better half is concerned she’ll get hurt. She worries all the time. I tell her be happy that it’s not football or wrestling One thing I had been getting excited about has been choosing her youth softball mitt. I remember finding my first baseball glove with my dad. Which in fact had been many years ago, so i decided to check out the youth softball gloves of today. The net is loaded with lots of selections for the fastpitch gloves. This was going to be a good time.

Right after my girl started out playing, she was given first base. I had been a shortstop, so I reckoned this was good. Now we needed to check out 1st base mitts. First base gloves are actually distinctive from other infield softball gloves. First basemen’s gloves are actually comparable to catcher’s mitts. First base mitts are usually longer obviously, however they also do not have individual fingertips. 1st base gloves can be found in either left and right, my daughter is left handed.

So, we were hoping to find a a lefty youth softball glove. My initial inclination was to check out a first base softball mitt from Nokona. I always used a Nokona glove whenever I played ball. The Nokona glove which I used was an infield mitt, and so I needed to see alternative brand names too. I know the endorsed mitts of the MLB are Rawlings gloves. That doesn’t automatically render the Rawlings gloves better than the Nokona mitt, but it means they are well worth a look.

Rawlings has first basemens softball mitts too, so at least they had versatility. I learned that 1st basemen’s softball mitts weren’t any different as compared to first basemens gloves for baseball. The range of Rawlings gloves was tremendous. In the Rawlings internet site there are 499 choices for Rawlings softtball or baseball gloves. Thankfully one could slim the Rawlings mitts choices down by how you throw and then youth and then infield softball gloves. This helped a great deal. Soon I was able to pick out the 2 or 3 Rawlings gloves which I believed were going to work for my young softball player.

I thought about going back to the Nokona glove of my childhood. I decided to check out the particular options they had to present too. They manufacture plenty of infield gloves from which to choose. I uncovered the ideal 1st base mitt. At this point I needed to choose.

Finally, I determined to get the Nokona glove and one from the Rawlings gloves. My superstar first base softball player alternates between them depending on her superstitions. She’s having a blast playing softball, and my spouse is content that the girl has not gotten injured. Now I’m getting excited about my girl becoming older so she can play high school fastpitch. I definitely count on getting her another softball glove. Also can’t wait to shop for some youth baseball gloves for the youngest son (only 6) and softball gloves through the rest of their early years.

Danica Can Stop Sweating Her Bad Season

June 7th, 2010

The IRL race in Texas finally saw a good result for Danica Patrick this weekend. She has been under extreme pressure to perform as the focal point of the struggling racing series. Criticism has been that she is so busy trying to be an actress and get into Nascar that she is not focusing on her Indy car racing. Her second place finish is by far the best finish she has had all year. The IRL has pinned it’s hopes for survival on the pretty face of Danica. She has to promote all over in order to try to fill the mostly empty stands. It helps the series that there is no more Champ Car and those fans are forced to watch this series or nothing at all in terms of American open wheel. So Danica can stop sweating talk of her being out of her league. She is back in respect at least amongst her fans.

Quality helmets & protective gear key to reducing head injuries

April 18th, 2010

A Study Shows that Sports Head Injuries are more Common than you would Think. While this article talks generally about football injuries softball and baseball injuries are also on the rise. Quality helmets and softball protective gear are important pieces of sports equipment. Face guards, mouthpieces and other softball and baseball protection will reduce the risk of sports injury.

There is that scene in that old movie Jerry Maguire where Cuba Gooding Jr. gets knocked out cold during a particularly aggressive professional football maneuver in the arena, and everyone goes through some breathless minutes seeing if he will move again. This year’s Super Bowl just went by, and professional football events will happen around the year; but about the last thing that anyone seems to think about in the same context as the Super Bowl, is how much of a possibility it is in professional football that an athlete will suffer a sports head injury. Well, someone’s paying attention. The American Medical Association’s professional magazine put out a report nearly a century ago that claimed that even a single football style blow to the head, through a helmet can cause what they call concussion hemorrhages. That was written a century ago, and only now have there been Congressional hearings into what happens long-term athletes, professional or amateur, who get head butted and the like.

And apparently there is a lot that happens. Athletes end up with uncontrollable anger problems, with walking in an uncoordinated fashion, and with finding it hard to do elementary reasoning. In fact, the all-macho NFL is issuing new rules this coming season to make sure that players who have had sports head injuries before, don’t come back to tempt fate again. They certainly take the “better late than never” adage seriously at the NFL, don’t they? They certainly hate to do this; they only announced this two months ago, and already their brain injury specialist, is taking it back and telling Congress that the evidence is nothing more than anecdotal.

But why go on research done by the medical association nearly a century ago? Apparently, the kind of research they did on damaged brains back then was so thorough, so complete, that there was no was no need ever to question what they did. The research took in 300 athletes, from boxing and football, who had died of sports head injuries. They also looked at a couple of dozen retired boxers whom anybody would call punchdrunk. They did not walk properly, they did not talk properly, and they certainly did not think properly. It looks like they were coming down with Alzheimer’s. A couple were even blind, nearly. Why, we do know what happened to Mohammed Ali, don’t we? Apparently, what happened to him was no exceptional affliction.

When a person takes a hit to the head, the brain knocks against the skull with ample force. The rubbery organ sometimes leaves a little too, and scars over. That kind of scar, gives you Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. In fact, NFL players more often than not, die before they hit 50. When they autopsied these four players, they found dark scar tissue in their brains, similar to what they see in Alzheimer’s patients. No one can be jolted into action the way those autopsy doctors can, actually seeing the damage with their own eyes. Sports head injuries are about real people, dying pathetically an undignified way. In a few years, all contact sports could carry a federal warning.

This is critical in softball for your youth ballplayer. Wear good fitting protective equipment and make sure the helmets are highly safety rated. Get your sporting equipment and protecting gear from reputable online vendors.

Manage Your Sports Diet During The Holidays

February 26th, 2009

If you are concerned about maintaining your sports diet during the holidays while confronted with awesome desserts and sweets, these dieting tips can help. These are simple ideas, but often difficult to follow because of the overwhelming temptation of holiday sweets.

For starters, you should always eat healthy meals. Resist the normally high fatty foods that are provided at holiday dinners such as sweet potatoes, turkey and glazed ham. One way to do that is to eat a healthy non-fat or low fat meal at home before you visit a party. Because desserts are often extremely high in refined sugar, you must remember to eat very small portions of sweets. Have a cookie to celebrate the occasion, but do not sit down in front of a plate of them. Whether it is pie, cookies or chocolate candy, it is easy to over endulge. As always, continue to drink plenty of water while on a healthy sports diet to control the weight especially during the holidays.

Aerobic Exercise

April 21st, 2008

Aerobic exercise is for men and women. The idea that aerobics is just for women is due to a stereotype and nothing more. It originated during the 1980’s when fitness started to become the in-thing. The latest craze was aerobics classes that were taught by women, and thus had women students. They went to their aerobic exercise
classes with the leotards, stockings, and leg warmers. Due to the popularity of aerobic exercise and dieting, their associated clothing articles also showed up in music and other popular culture.

Online stores offering sports magazines have the largest selection and best prices

October 11th, 2007

If you go to a good online store, however, you can find all kinds of cheap sports magazines that your little heart desires. Online stores are a great source for sports magazines. You can find magazines about almost any type of sport imaginable. I don’t really understand how online stores manage to support so many specialty magazines, but they do seem to do a great job of it. I suppose that people into niche magazines find out about online book stores and go there to do all of their magazine shopping and research. Whatever the reason, it is a great source of sports magazines because online stores offer cheap magazines and discount savings compared to local newsstand prices, especially when you buy a magazine package of say three or five diffenent magazine titles.
