How to Enjoy Water Sports in Comfort

December 27th, 2010

I have been a water sports enthusiast for pretty much most of my whole life. One thing I have learned is that to bond with a water sport it is really important to have the right equipment so you are comfortable, safe and you can be effective in order to have fun. I know many people who try a water sport for a brief time and quit because they were either too cold, didn’t have the right equipment and did not have a good initial experience they actually quit before they even really get started.

Taking a lesson is often what will get people off to a good start, a bit of education about what you need to be comfortable and feel safe will go a long way to having fun right away.

If you are doing a water sport in cold water the right wetsuit gear will make all the difference. Your comfort can also be dependent on knowing what gear is most effective for a specific water sport.

Top Florida Diving Areas On The Atlantic Coast

January 4th, 2010

Many open water divers travel to Florida scuba diving simply because there are lots of diving sites situated around the coast of Florida.

Florida has more coast line than any other state in the U.S. and with its southern location provides plenty of places to scuba dive in clear and warm waters.

First, let’s look at the Atlantic coast. Up and down this coast line are 3 reef lines, outer reef, middle reef and inner reef providing some of the finest dive sites from Jupiter, just north of West Palm Beach, all the way down to Key West.

A fantastic event up and down this coast is the steady current of warm water which is The Gulf Stream. The Gulf Stream runs close to the shores heading north before veering out into the Atlantic.

The Gulf Stream provides a cleansing action for the delicate marine bio system and brings with it nutrients which provides essential food for the growing marine system.

Many travelling to Florida diving for the first time are astonished at the range and diversity of diving sites available.

Top Florida Diving From Jupiter – Miami

Jupiter and West Palm Beach will astonish you with their fascinating shipwrecks and some dive sites have more than one wreck. The Thozina is one of a trio of wrecks sunk at an artificial reef called Governor’s River Walk Reef and is targeted at experienced divers.

For beginner divers Florida diving in West Palm Beach also has stunning reefs such as Breakers Reef.
Sweeping south towards Miami you reach Ft. Lauderdale. America’s answer to Venice, this is a striking place providing a great base for any Florida diving trip.

Ft. laud has interesting diving sites such as Tenneco Towers or Oil Platforms. There are plenty of exciting choices and when you travel further south you get to Miami.

Only in Miami would you scuba dive to discover Army Tanks!

Miami has a diverse range of dive sites for beginner and experienced divers and when you take into account the choice of venues and sights out of the water it is a great place to go diving.

Top Florida Diving Sites From Key Largo To Key West
Any Florida diving trip would not be complete without diving The keys Fl.

For a long time called “The Scuba Diving Capital of the World” Key Largo has one of the widest choices and variety of diving sites in the world.

The locale around Key Largo is stunning in its diversity with shipwrecks, reefs and caves to be explored. The biggest shipwreck ever sunk off the coast of Florida is the Spiegel Grove and this challenging dive is rewarded with the astonishing sight of one gigantic shipwreck now occupied by some very large fish. The are many other ships including the U.S.S. Duane and U.S.S. Bibb which can be dived by less experienced divers.

Molasses Reef is the place to visit if you love underwater photography. The shallow waters and good lighting makes this a stunning reef on which to take macro photographs of the marine life.

Key Largo is the finest known by the Florida diving community for its wide collection of diving sites but Key West is the spot to go for the nightlife and culture if you do take a trip to The Keys.

Key West provides some of the finest entertainment in The Keys with the streets full of jugglers, singers and other entertainers going through their routines in the street. With some great dive sites Key West is many peoples favorite destination.

So many areas and so little time and what’s more we haven’t even looked at The Gulf of Mexico on Florida’s west coast. That we will do in another article.

Scube Dive Varity & Adventure

November 22nd, 2008

There are a number of adventure dives that have been developed to stimulate further scuba diving adventure based on a continuing education plan of scuba diving information.

The reason that specialized scuba diving information is required to take part in these adventure dives is because these dives require complex skill sets needed to perform.

Some of the types of dives you may want to experience could be classified as:

Basic Adventure Dive
Specialty Dives
“Danger” Dives

Now, some of these adventure dives are fairly easy to learn while others are more difficult. The choice to take part in them is up to the individual, but participation without proper scuba diving information would be ill advisable. With preperation and guidence your next dive could be your best scuba dive and the one you remember a lifetime.

Nice info about commercial diving. You can get the bends, can get bit by a shark, can be crushed by falling construction supports ,or can be the victim of marine equipment failure. Lets face it – commercial diving is not for the faint of heart.

Nevertheless, there are more dangerous jobs that don’t pay nearly as much. If you have the passion for commercial diving, I say go for it. The risks are high compared to most professions, but they are not extraordinary. I have known hundreds of commercial divers, and only one of them died on the job. June 11th, 2007
The ocean is an exciting wonderful place that can only truly be discovered by scuba diving. There are so many things for you to see and that needs to be discovered. Each time that you go underwater it is a whole new experience. However, many modern divers have found a new way to enjoy the beauty of the ocean. It is called the adventure of naked scubadiving and is considered to be the only way to explore the ocean by many. It can give you a sense of freedom that you have never experienced before in your life.

For an adventure that you will not soon forget there are several clubs available that have made the option of naked scubadiving available to you. Just imagine how it would be to feel the oceans water caressing your body as you are diving. It is something that you would have to experience for yourself to know the feeling of freedom that it can provide. If you have a relationship that has become a little predictable, naked scubadiving could definitely add some thrill that may help you get things back on tract. At the very least it will be an adventure that you would always remember.

Other advantages exist outside of the pleasure that you can experience when it comes to naked scubadiving. Due to the fact that you will want to protect your body as much as possible you will be watching everything around you. This in turn will make you a better diver. It will teach you to be aware of everything going on and to always pay attention. There are a lot of small creatures found in the ocean and some of them even like to hitch a ride on your clothing. Even though you don’t have to worry about these attaching to your skin, they could still become a nuisance. Therefore, you should also follow proper procedures before you take you nude diving adventure.

As with any adventure there are a few disadvantages to naked scubadiving so make sure that you use precaution and learn the risk before you go diving. It is recommended that you enlist the help of a qualified instructor to help ensure that you have all the latest updated information. Know the location in which you intend to dive. In fact, it wouldn’t hurt to take a few practice dives in a wetsuit first just to familiarize yourself with the water. Use the internet to help you find clubs that offer this exciting new way of scuba diving when you are ready to give it a try.

Who Else Wants A Free Scuba Diving Lesson And Skin Diving Course Online?

March 14th, 2007

Since man first began scratching pictures upon the walls of his cave to depict his daily life, there has been a continuous record of his attempt to explore and exploit the sea. We find references to man’s propensities as a diver from the time of early historic man down to the present day. Man’s culture has, of course, been influenced strongly by his adventures above and below the surface of the sea.

However, until fairly modern times, man was limited to short sojourns beneath the surface. In the early 1800′s the conventional “Hard Hat”, or helmeted diving dress was invented, which enabled man for the first time to successfully submerge for long periods of time with comparative safety. He was still, however limited in his scope by the length of his hoses and lines. Envisage a “Hard Hat”, diver, if you will, still a creature of the surface, as attested to by the umbilical like lines running from him to his boat, leaning at a precarious angle and plodding laboriously across the bottom. Hardly a thing of poetry and grace; but nonetheless, utilitarian and successful.

Some several years after the advent of the helmeted divers appearance upon the scene, there appeared a breed of men who called themselves “sport divers”, or “skin divers”.

Eye laser correction

January 9th, 2007

From www.eyelaser.info Do you have 20/20 vision? Let’s face it, most of us aren’t blessed with perfect vision any more than we’re blessed with perfectly straight teeth. This is why prescription eyewear has been all the rage for so many decades. It’s funny how things changed when contact lenses came out. Suddenly everyone wanted the newer and more innovative thing. However, as time moved on, it seemed as though glasses came back in style. To this day I still see oodles of people with eye glasses. Now, keeping that in mind, prescription glasses and contact lenses are not the only solutions in town any more. These days we have the option of a permanent solution. Ever heard of Eye laser eye correction? Well of course you have. It’s not like it’s some procedure exclusive to royalty. Anyone with the cash can have laser eye correction done. It all depends on what you’re looking for.

New Source for Scuba Diving

November 23rd, 2006

Many people have considered taking up Scuba Diving and more often than not, whilst on vacation.

There is something alluring about the warm blue waters with the surface just giving a hint of the pleasures below.

But where do you start? Where do you get introductory material? and once you are into the sport where do you go from there?

Scuba Diving is not just about swimming along a part of the coast, it’s far more than that.

The huge range of absolutely stunning and colourful corals (hard and soft) coupled with an enoumous range of marine life is a truly amazing experience.

I started my Scuba Diving at the age of 49 which some would consider late, and in my case I would agree though not for the reasons that first spring to mind. Scuba Divers dive well into their 80′s and start as young as 10 years old.

So I missed out on 39 years of fantastic experiences, friendly people and marvellous holiday vacations.

But remember that although Scuba Diving can often be a family activity there are those in the family who might not want to dive. So, what about them? Well, the new site I am pointing you to provides information concerning the localities you may end up diving in, so they have something to explore too.

This is a new site, so do bookmark it as we continue to add information almost daily.

You can take a look by clicking this line and if you wish you can also obtain a FREE eBook with helpful advise about how to choose you first dive tutor and dive centre.
