As a sports fan, there are certain major events that I would like to see in person at some point in my life. For example, I would love to attend Game 7 of the World Series, NBA Finals, or Stanley Cup Finals. I’ve only been to a handful of playoff games in each of those sports, and can’t even begin to imagine how much more energy and excitement there would be in the Finals. Also, I just have to find some way to go to a Super Bowl, the BCS Championship Game, or a Final Four matchup during March Madness. In addition, I want to score Daytona 500 tickets as well.
That last one is a bit unusual for me, because I’m not much of a NASCAR fan at all. But getting Daytona 500 tickets is a whole different ballgame, as the event, which kicks off each new racing season, is unanimously regarded as the most important stock car race of the year. Some 90,000 fans are able to watch from the Speedway, while millions more take in all the action on television. That’s a lot of eyeballs on this one race! I can’t imagine Opening Day of Major League Baseball or even the NFL drawing that much attention.
With all these folks clamoring to get Daytona 500 tickets, it’s probably going to take some savvy moves on my part to land good seats. I don’t have any connections to NASCAR, so I’ll be stuck trying to get these passes on my own. There’s no way I would travel all the way to Florida just to deal with scalpers, though. That would be far too risky. I need to purchase legitimate Daytona 500 tickets and have them in hand before I make my way down to the Sunshine State.
From what I’ve read, many NASCAR fans have had success buying Daytona 500 tickets online from leading ticket brokers. These brokers offer terrific seats to the event at very affordable prices. In fact, some brokers even offer a low price guarantee, saying that they’ll match or beat any competitor’s advertised price for a comparable ticket. As long as the broker has a solid reputation, that sounds like an excellent way to buy discount Daytona 500 tickets.
Another way would be to check eBay or other auction sites. As the event date draws closer, I’ll probably be able to find a lot of guys looking to get rid of their Daytona 500 tickets online. This usually happens when something important comes up or if they’re not able to take time off work. Or maybe they have a cash flow problem that’s preventing them from making the trip. No matter the reason, that would present me with a prime opportunity to snag a ticket or two.
Well, I still have some time before February to figure out how I’m going to get Daytona 500 tickets. And who knows, I might not even attend this next race. But I definitely want to hit the Speedway sometime before I die so I can see this premiere racing event in person.

Several years ago, one of my clients gave me a pair of Indy 500 tickets as a thank you for handling an important contract for him. It was the first time I ever attended a car race event of any kind, and I had an absolutely amazing time! I had great seats, plus an infield pass that allowed me to see the cars and drivers up close before the racing started. Needless to say, I became a huge IRL fan from that day forward, and now try to attend the event every single year.
I live fairly close to Indianapolis, so getting there isn’t a problem. Scoring good Indy 500 tickets year after year, however, is a different story. The first time I tried to get my own passes, I wasn’t prepared for all the hoops I had to jump through. I waited too long and tried to buy too close to the deadline, which of course meant the desirable seats had already been snapped up. Then I tried getting Indy 500 tickets from scalpers, but ended up paying far too much for a terrible spot in the bleachers.
Since those failed attempts, I’ve smartened up considerably and now have no trouble getting awesome tix without spending a ton of money. I do this by buying my Indy 500 tickets online from discount brokers, auctions, or swap sites. Ticket brokers are usually a good bet, as they are the most reliable source for excellent seating. Brokers provide their ticketing services year round for a variety of events, so the last thing they want is to get a reputation for false advertising (claiming seats are in a better section than they actually are) or for extremely inflated prices. I haven’t had a bad experience with one of these places yet — knock on wood — so I definitely recommend giving them a try.
Auctions are another option for those seeking Indy 500 tickets. You can usually find ticket auctions on eBay or similar websites. Some folks prefer bidding on tix because they have a bit more control in terms of setting a maximum price, but at the same time you actually have to win the auction, which is by no means guaranteed. Plus, you also have to worry about whether or not you’re dealing with a reputable seller who will mail you the (hopefully) authentic Indy 500 tickets in a timely fashion.
In recent years, ticket exchange or swap sites have become very popular. People go to these sites to exchange passes for different events. For example, say I have a Rolling Stones concert ticket, but am not interested in going. I can head to the swap site and see if someone wants to trade me for a ticket to a Linkin Park concert or something. This is kind of a cool setup, and can be a great way to score Indy 500 tickets.
If you’ve never been to this race, do yourself a favor and go sometime soon! It’s considered one of the crown jewels of motorsports, and should be on every sports fan’s list of events to attend in person. There are approximately 400,000 Indy 500 tickets available for each race, so you’ve got an excellent chance of getting prime seats for the action.

Michelin has announced the new Power One race tire for motorcycles.
Let’s get acquainted with the new Power One as it utilizes a host of new technologies, we’ll start with here with “2CT” tech, the Power One employs what Michelin calls MRSE (Michelin Racing Synthetic Elastomers) compounds combined with HTSC (High Tech Synthetic Compound) resins. The idea is that Michelin’s particular mixture of compounds is aimed at providing fast warm-up times while offering great grip characteristics.
Another technology is the new NST (Near Slick Technology). The minimal tread patters covers only 5% of the tire’s surface, which really means that the tire is 95% slick, which maximizes the rubber patch ensuring outstanding contact with the road. Michelin claims the resulting traction helps facilitate lean angles approaching 60 degrees, which is incredible since these lean angles were not obtainable for the general riding public a few years ago.
However, these tires were designed as track day tires and for road racing. They are not optimal for everyday street use because they need to generate sufficient heat to accomplish maximum grip. In addition, they are not going to be ideal for wet riding conditions as the 95% slick pattern will only make wet weather riding a true white knuckle experience. Also, the will not last in terms of mileage; these tires are meant for winning races or making fast laps around a closed racing circuit (track day).
So, to sum it all up, the new Power One incorporates a new dual-compound technology in one tire. The hardest compound of rubber hardness/grip is found in the center. The softer compound is on each side of the tire where you need it the most for traction at extreme lean angles. These new Power One tires change the game when it comes to performance. Check the out at www.komodogear.com for a wide selection and great prices – with free shipping!

The IRL race in Texas finally saw a good result for Danica Patrick this weekend. She has been under extreme pressure to perform as the focal point of the struggling racing series. Criticism has been that she is so busy trying to be an actress and get into Nascar that she is not focusing on her Indy car racing. Her second place finish is by far the best finish she has had all year. The IRL has pinned it’s hopes for survival on the pretty face of Danica. She has to promote all over in order to try to fill the mostly empty stands. It helps the series that there is no more Champ Car and those fans are forced to watch this series or nothing at all in terms of American open wheel. So Danica can stop sweating talk of her being out of her league. She is back in respect at least amongst her fans.

Aston Martin has announced its intention to compete for outright victory at the 2009 Le Mans 24 hour race, due to be held over the weekend of 13-14 June.
The British sports car maker plans to build on its success in the GT1 class and achieve overall victory fifty years after the marque first secured the top step on the classic endurance race podium.
While the efforts of Aston Martin with its DBR9 racer have delivered class victory two years in a row, competing for the overall title against the proven speed and endurance of the diesel-powered cars such as the Audi R15 and Peugeot 908 is an ambitious goal.
But in 2009, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), which sets the rules for the race, is introducing new regulations aimed at balancing the performance of petrol and diesel engined cars, which Aston believe hands them an opportunity to climb the rankings.
More about the Aston Martin challenging for victory at Le Mans here.

Can you actually make a living betting on greyhounds? The answer is yes with the right tools. Even though there are no jockeys to steer the dogs, greyhound racing is more predictable because there are only 6 or 8 runners, the going (ground) is consistent unlike horse racing, and the different grades mean the dogs are all of a similar standard … usually.
If you can predict which dog has the right draw and and the early pace to lead the others round bends one and two, you’ll regularly pick winners, as 65% of races are won by the dog that leads at the first bend. Other sectionals are obviously important, but none are as important as the first sectional.
Using sectional timings to consistently pick race winners is therefore the way to make a regular income. Analysing sectionals though for every race is virtually impossible. To do it you need a piece of greyhound racing software like the one I use, it’s called “Sectional Timings”. It uses 5 years of greyhound results data to analyse the chances of each dog in a race. It will only advise dogs on any day that have a stand out chance of winning, meaning they meet the systems set criteria for winning dogs.
It won’t pick the winner every time, but it does the majority of the time!
You can read more about the system I use for selecting winning greyhound racing tips here.

Are you planning to improve the aesthetic appearance of your car? Want to get that sporty and sleek look? Then here are some pointers that will help you dress up your car.
There is a big difference in buying a sports car and a sedan. There is also a big difference in between a brand new model and an older one. A buyer must carefully assess his needs several times before deciding to buy a brand new model. This is particularly true if the budget is quite tight. But even if one can generously afford a brand new model, he must remember that money that is put in the wrong car is wasted money.

After looking like a race win for Massa and the championship as well it was all taking away from him on the last corner of the last lap. I had already given up on Lewis Hamilton becoming World Champion around 3 laps before the finish when Vettel went past him which relegated Lewis to 6th place.
To become the World F1Champion with Massa and his Ferrari in 1st place, Hamilton had to finish no lower than 5th. I’m glad I stopped around to watch the exciting climax to what turned out to be the closest finish of the 2008 F1 World Championship with Glocks Toyota struggling for grip while running dry tyres in wet conditions on the very last corner he could no longer hold off the cars behind allowing Lewis to slip by into 5th place so crowing Lewis Hamilton the youngest person ever to win a F1 World Championship and in only his 2nd year of the sport.
The Ferrari pit were already celebrating Massa’s win and the world championship when a few seconds later the news came in and the look on their faces told it all. You can see more from these Lewis Hamilton Video Compilations

The “bugeye” Sprite, or more formally, the Austin Healey Sprite Mark I, was originally designed by the famous sports car designer Dennis Healey. The British Motor Corporation (BMC) made nearly 49,000 cars from 1958 to 1961. The British motoring press first saw the car just prior to the start of the Monarco Formula 1 grand prix in 1958.
The car was conceived as a natural replacement for the hot, modified Austin Sevens that were being raced in England, Europe and Australia. The car had to be low cost, so many parts from the Austin A35 and Morris Minor were used by BMC.
The Mark I Sprite had no separate chassis. It was the first sports car to use integrated construction, whereby the metal skin panels of the body carry the loads normally carried by the chassis. To keep the costs down there were no outside handles on the doors and no trunk lid. The spare wheel was stored under the rear deck, and to get it out the seats needed to be tilted forward.
The famous “Bugeye” look, with the headlights standing on the front of the bonnet was not intended. The original design was for these lights to swing down into a recess when turned off. Because of the need to cut costs, this tilt mechanism was deleted and the unique “bugeye” look was born. Would the car have enjoyed such cult status if the “bugeye” look had not prevailed?
With the Austin A35 948cc slightly tuned engine fitted, with twin SU carburetors, the Sprite still only had 43bhp. It could reach 60 mph in 20.5 seconds and had a top speed of 83 mph (135 km/h). British Motor Corporation had the car competing in many major rallies and races with considerable success.
Private owners all over the world also raced the Sprite in local and national competition. The fact that the car was relatively cheap to buy and easy to upgrade for racing made it a favourite of the amateur race drivers. Many early Sprites are still being raced in England, Europe, the United States and Australia today, fifty years after its introduction.

ATV riders love to ride. The love to tune and fine-tune their bikes to hit tracks and outperform other atv riders or just simply enjoy themselves. A lot of atv’s look fantastics. Each rider can give their atv a personal look and feel. Some like to give it a simple, clean, obvious look, others complex with all kinds of design strokes, flames and what not. More advanced atv riders usually don’t care about the looks too much. They rather spend their money on fine-tuning how their bikes perform.

The wear and tear of seemingly ordinary, day to day driving can take its toll on even the most cautious of drivers. Nicks, scratches, dents, chips, and the like, can etch the surface of your car like an acid, marring the pristine finish it had when you drove it off the lot. These unwanted (and yet inevitable) scars are the proud automobile owner’s nightmare, but can be easily remedied by way of the talents of a professional auto detailer.

NASCAR has become one of the most popular sporting associations in North America. Some say it’s become a fifth major sport, and some even think it has replaced the National Hockey League as the fourth biggest league in the United States. If you are interested in learning more about the league, take a look at some of the basics of NASCAR.
The first of the basics of NASCAR is its origins. NASCAR’s name is short for National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. Founded by Bill France Sr. in 1948, NASCAR was divided into three divisions. The divisions were the Modified, Roadster and Strictly Stock divisions. This is one of the basics of NASCAR that has changed over time. Today the three divisions of NASCAR are the Nextel Cup Series (formerly Winston Cup), Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series.

One of the more popular NASCAR drivers today is Dale Earnhardt Jr. Born in 1974, he made it to the main NASCAR series in 2000. He won races in Texas and Richmond that year. However, he lost to Matt Kenseth for the Rookie of the Year award. By the time he’s finished racing he may be one of the NASCAR drivers with the most wins.
Jimmie Johnson is less experienced, but he is another of the top NASCAR drivers today. Born in 1975, he won three races in 2002 in the Nextel Cup, but he lost to Ryan Newman for the Rookie of the Year title. Johnson finished in second place for the Nextel Cup in 2003 and 2004. While he has not been in NASCAR for long, he is already having a great amount of success.

Who’d have thought that my dad and I could have fun together, I mean we’re a world apart right? Well yes in a way, but we’re also tight with slot car racing which is a great model and hobby. Slot car racing was popular years back, when my dad was a kid (ancient history) but it’s made a comeback and I’m lovin’ it.
Slot car racing can be a kick and real competitive when you race with the miniature cars or trucks. They’re racing a along a slot in the track, but it still takes skill, going around the turns can send you flying if you’re not careful. Now some don’t think so, but slot car racing is both a hobby and a sport (and yeah it can get heated); it’s a hobby since you can build custom cars and a sport cause then you race ‘em.
It’s growing like crazy, all over America, in strip malls and other places, wherever you have some room… ‘bam, up pops a slot car racing track, not enough for ‘ya, how ’bout NASCAR slot car racing, that is way cool. If you want it simple, you can set up a two car track, or the big ones (when you’re hangin’ with friends) can have eight tracks.
Check it out, slot car racing is the summer thing.
