First Aid For Hunting Safety
Hunting can provide opportunities for many types of injuries. Being prepared is your best defense against disabling injuries or even life-threatening accidents. Knowing some basic hunting first aid and using common sense when in the wild can save both life and limb.
If you don’t know CPR, learn it. Call your local hospital, EMS, or fire department to find out when and where you can attend a community CPR class. You never know when you may need to perform CPR on a friend, family member, or even a stranger. A few hours of your time could save a life someday.
Man has been hunting animals such as deer and buffalo for the purposes of food, clothing and shelter for a very long time. Hunting actually predates the civilized world as we know it today and there are many archaeological discoveries that confirm this fact in hunting history.
An Asian spearhead has been carbon dated as being over 16,000 years old and there is some evidence that we used larger game as food as much as 2 million years ago. That doesn’t seem likely to me but I suppose it’s not impossible. Archaeologists think it’s the case, tho.

Heritage fishing lakes and streams fisheries are carefully maintained aquatic preserves in various parts of the world. There a tradition or habitat surrounding fishing has been protected from today’s modern hazards.
A heritage fishery may be a lake, river or part of the ocean; its locale having less to do with its heritage designation than preservation of a certain style or era. Heritage fishing’s purpose is twofold: to experience fishing as it was in the past and to preserve fishing for the future.
Glendalough State Park is the newest member of the Minnesota State Parks family. Its land was given to the state by a private donor in the 1990s and the lakes on the park acreage were fished privately for nearly a hundred years.
Bass fishing tips aren’t something I have a lot of. As I said before I hardly ever fished for bass. I grew up in Minnesota and if it wasn’t walleyes, northerns or panfish it’s as if it didn’t exist. What I had never caught was a Musky.
I had some friends who had a 32 foot trailer on their lot on Blackwater Lake in northern Minnesota and my buddy and I went up there a few times with the express idea of catching muskies.
It’s a good sized lake with a lot of different habitat and you could catch bass, northerns, walleyes and muskies. Crappies and bluegills were also abundant but the water was so clear it made fishing a bit tough.
We tried for muskies a couple of days and never had a hit let alone a follow so to soothe our disappointment we would fish crappies and bluegills just so we could catch something.

Baseball arrived to the United States through immigrants from Britain and Ireland. The game of baseball has part of life in the U.S.A. in since the early 1830’s. Hence, the goal of the game is scoring more points than the rival team and in the language of baseball; points are referred to as runs. By running through all the bases in the square shaped field called ‘diamond’, each of the nine member teams will attempt to score runs when they are batting. This running through bases is known as a ‘tour’. Starting from the home plate, a player will tour counter clockwise, until he arrives back to the home plate.
Baseball is a game played between two teams. The batting team bats and the fielding team catches and tries to get the players of the batting team ?out? of the game. However, the team that scores the maximum number of runs will win the game.

Baseball developed from variations of the English game of rounders, from related regional and local games, and from children’s games like “one old cat,” all of which had evolved through centuries. Baseball rebounded well from the war and doubled the attendance of the previous year as the nation embraced a return to normalcy. Baseball, widely known as America’s pastime and is well established in several other countries as well. Baseball has certain attributes that set it apart from the other popular team sports in other countries, such as American and Canadian football, basketball, ice hockey, and soccer.
Starting in 1884 and going through 1890, the National League and the American Association faced each other in a series of games at the end of the season to determine an overall champion. Several other major leagues formed and failed. The National and American leagues added two more expansion teams; the leagues were reorganized into two divisions each, and a post-season playoff system leading to the World Series was instituted.

Pro Wrestling in itself is one of the most unique forms of entertainment out there. Some call it a sport, some call it a soap opera and others call it a traveling stage show. For something so hard to pigeon hole it is equally as hard for reporters to cover the wrestling news.
In the dinosaur age before wrestling was exposed journalists would cover wrestling news as if it were a real sport like boxing. They would show up at the events, make notes and when a wrestler won then that was that.

Ice skating has a long history. In fact the origins of ice skating date back to the early ninth century. The purpose then was far more practical, however, than recreational. The earliest ice skates are believed to have been found in London and made of horse bone. It is believed that these skates served utilitarian purposes such as movement from place to place in order to search or scavenge for food rather than the largely recreational purpose that most ice skates have in modern society.

Who started fantasy football, and when? It all goes back almost 50 years when a limited partner in the Oakland Raiders and some of his sports writer and editor friends cooked up the idea during a long road trip. When they got back, they started the first fantasy football league. Initially, it was hard to form leagues and keep the information flowing, but then came personal computers and finally the Web. Today, fantasy football is big business and fantasy football team fanatics are being courted by television networks and advertisers because they watch more games, buy more tickets, and spend more on their sport than average fans.

People place a lot of importance on sports memorabilia history, because it is that history that helps them support their families. Sports memorabilia retailers learn a lot about the sports that surround their business, and know truly collectible items are genuine when they see the various holograms attached to the sporting products that they have in their sports memorabilia collectibles inventories. This is the best time of the year to take one of the Iowa vacations for the basketball lover. This week the girls state tournament starts and there is a flurry of activity around the capital city as teams from all over the state arrive to show their prowess on the court. This year all but three teams are coming from north of I80, the interstate that divides the state in half from north to south. These tournaments are held for different classes so all sizes of schools are represented, so that isn’t a factor. The tournaments are being held a few weeks early this year as the arena has other events scheduled in the normal time slot for basketball. This didn’t allow for as many games as are usually played. Next week the boys start their tournament and some schools that have both a girls and a boys team going to state are really appreciative of the nice weather. There is a legend around the state that there is always a blizzard during the girls tourney. Mother nature seems to have taken the earlier schedule into account as there is a big storm scheduled to hit at six o’clock tonight.

Anyone can play the game of golf. Golf requires practice and some basic instruction on technique, equipment, rules and etiquette. In the United States golfers can take lessons from professionals certified by the Professional Golfers Association or the United State Golf Teachers’ Federation, study books or magazines, use trial-and-error on the course, or get tips from practically anyone. The history of golf instruction is a fascinating story of technical improvement and personalities, just like the game itself.A game hard to master.
Golf students have different learning styles. There are Show-Me Golfers and I-Am-What-I-Am Golfers. Show-me golfers are eager to try new ideas, new equipment, new teachers, and new locations. They are the golfers most willing to contemplate a complete rebuilding of the golf swing. Greg Norman is an example of a Show-Me golfer. I-Am-What-I-Am golfers tend to more conservative in their approach to new ideas and techniques, tend to favor their old clubs and tested instruction techniques, and prefer tinkering with their swing rather than rebuilding from scratch…
