The sports industry has been rocked by media coverage over the last few years of the abuse of various regulated and unregulated drugs in the hobby. Whether it is questions about the number of home runs being hit in one season or the size and power of the front line of an offensive football team. The unauthorized use of various drugs within the sports world has caught the attention of governmental regulators.
The key question is whether organized and professional sports are going to take the initiative to regulate themselves or whether the perception of the sports industry will drive political figures to impose governmental regulation upon organized and professional sports.
The cost of governmental regulation has been proven to be high by various regulatory cost research studies across a wide variety of social and business organizations. What will professional sports be link if we don’t do something as an industry and government regulators step in?
