Learn The Interlocking Golf Grip

August 25th, 2010

There are a number of different ways to grip a golf club, but the interlocking golf grip is probably the most popular.

The interlocking golf grip allows both hands to work as one, and having the fingers interlock ensures that the hands do not come apart at any stage during the swing.

Many of the players on the pro circuits use this grip because it gives them the control they want on the club, and therefore on the ball.

If you want to learn the correct techniques of the interlocking golf grip, I have just posted a short video, which explains how. The video is short and to the point, and will have you gripping the club correctly in no time.

Go check it out and find more golfing tips and advice at Golf Swing Basics.

Some helpful info on buying baseball and softball bats this summer

June 10th, 2010

Understanding how to buy fastpitch softball or baseball equipment when you’re a new comer to the game maybe a bit outdated is often a little overwhelming for parents. Whether it’s choosing the right size softball bat or perhaps the perfect baseball glove for trying to play infield or outfield, a lot of parents find this endeavor rather tricky and rewarding as well. Suitable softball/baseball equipment should help your kid to exhibit their very own skills at the field.

All the same, there are still differences between softball and baseball equipment, which makes good sense as competitive softball originated from baseball. Certain baseball equipment is often tried for softball gear, such as helmet protection, youth cleats, but baseball and softball bats too.

Even so, one could play fastpitch by using a baseball bat and reverse, although the results will vary. One should consider that fastpitch bats weigh less and while playing baseball it will very likely get chipped. Also, baseball bats are heavier and 12 inch softballs are much bigger, and so it could be poor choice too. Youth Leagues utilize bats from 26 to 31 in . long with weight between sixteen and 23 ounces. Today, baseball and competitive softball bats are made of lots of materials Long time ago, softball/baseball bats were being composed of wood. Since the sports engineering progressed, baseball/softball bats are now usually made with metallic alloys like light weight aluminum and titanium.

In addition, it is quite difficult to determine if a bat will be the correct weight for ones youngster. The best thing to do is to see how he/she hits vs pitched baseballs. Hitting from a tee or against a soft toss can provide a player unreliable results. If you happen to get a softball bat that is either too heavy to swing or too long, it will be the right strategy to stick it in the equipment bag and wait for next season. A poorly picked softball bat may discourage your young ballplayer and it can lower his/her squad’s ability to win games.

You will discover bats to be costly, particularly when you are trying to consider the price and performance. Then again, you have to be mindful that no matter how well you maintain a bat, your child may well grow too much, and in this way a bat may last just one season.

Your next big decision that is very important for ones little leaguer may be for a mitt or a glove. Before you go shopping for this equipment you’ll want some knowledge of them. First, you don’t want to purchase a baseball mitt at a garage sale or from a toy store. All those teeny mitts turn out to be awful for catching the baseball or softball. They’ll never soften as will genuine mitts. Mainly, they are too small to be able to help the young player scoop even a partially wayward throw. Next, you need to be very cautious concerning the size of the mitt. Test it out at the retailer to find if the softball stays in the glove. If the young ballplayer cannot pick up a practice grounder using one hand, then the glove’s too large. Give some thought to ordering the softball mitt on-line, however, as the pricing is typically 15-20% less (with free delivery)

If you have a young softball player you will need to invest your cash on other softball gear besides bats and mitts. For those who have a softball catcher in the household, you will need protective softball equipment, including shin pads, chest protectors, masks and catcher helmets. Protective baseball gear includes shin guards, a chest protector, protective cup and a face mask. Besides the before outlined softball equipment, you could also have to find softball uniforms. It is difficult to distinguish softball from baseball clothes. As a final point, it is important for all those young softball players to have shoes that fit well.

Weight Loss Vs Muscle

April 26th, 2010

Muscle and liver storage of glycogen (carbohydrate) and water can affect body weight without effecting xtreme fat loss levels.

Following a bout of resistance training, and assuming adequate nutrition has been consumed with sufficient amounts of carbohydrate, the muscle and liver glycogen (carbohydrate) stores are filled to capacity. And for every 1 gram of glycogen stored, 3-4 grams of water is also stored.

(This is why muscles appear to be bigger and fuller the day after a weights session. The muscle hasn’t dramatically grown overnight; it’s just full of glycogen and water)

The Secret is In The Dirt

April 13th, 2010

Re the talk about Lee Westwood ‘almost’ winning a major in the Masters last Sunday, The Daily Telegraph have a few interesting points. Although, I will never agree with the way the media BASH our sportsmen constantly and NEVER give praise, they do give a great ‘backhanded compliment to Andy Murray, here’s some of the text:

” Lee Westwood will never be a genius like Seve Ballesteros, Tiger Woods, Mickelson or even big John Daly. Westwood will find his major buried in the ground. He just has to go out there and dig a little deeper. People used to view Ben Hogan as a mystical prophet from a far-off land. Once he said: “The secret is in the dirt.” That is where Nick Faldo found his six majors and that is where Westwood will find the final answer. It is out there in the dirt of the practice range. Each time Andy Murray gets close to a major title he goes away and increases his workload. Murray finished second in Australia, Westwood finished second in the Masters. While a few more people give up on them, they go away and work a little harder.

This is ALL that’s WRONG with british sport, instead of supporting our sportsmen and women, the Britsh media knock them when they’re down.

Much more on this here at Andy Murray Matters

Insports Success Coaching

May 10th, 2009

Life coaching and success coaching

Coaching is a modern and quickly evolving method for facilitating others to improve, produce, learn different skills, find success success, reach aims and handle life change and individual challenges. Life coaching, or success coaching - different terms are used - is working for all situations, whether in success life, career, sales or corporate and business life. Life coaching, success coaching and like-minded coaching of these kinds are unique to traditional training.

Coaching draws out instead of putting in. It develops rather than imposes. It reflects rather than points. Effective coaching is a form of change facilitation - it enables people, rather than trains them. Coaching is responsive and adaptable - it allows for success transition on an successized basis.

Coaching forms no premisses - it’s non judgemental, nor is it prescriptive or instructional. Empathy is essential to the coaching process. Serious success coaching tries to help the other person’s apprehension of himself or herself. The individual notions and preferences and needs of the coach are immaterial - good coaching is about aiding other people to comprehend themselves, where they wish to be, and helping them to get there.

Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Dream!

March 21st, 2008

Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Dream!

Do you have any dream killers in your life? Dream killers are those people who discourage you when you are trying to change your life. It’s amazing how many people tell their friends and family that they cannot succeed. This is especially true when you are trying to do something "outside of the box" like making money online or starting your own business. Like managing your life using time management and goal setting techniques.

The main argument these dream killers have is that your goals are unrealistic. They will advise you to be more "practical", and pretend they are offering you sound advice.

Many of them believe they are doing a favor by discouraging you. They think they are helping you live a life in "your best interest". But really, they are encouraging you to a live a life without vision.

If you are really motivated toward success, doing anything less than your ambitious goals will be unfulfilling for you. You end up wondering what could have been. You continue to live your life for other people, instead of yourself.

Your friends and family who discourage you from trying something new are only giving you insight into what they would do in your position. They do not have the vision and the drive that you do. They are only reacting out of their own fear.

Other people take the path of least resistance, but that does not mean that you have to. Your goals are important to you for a reason. You will only be happy when you achieve them. Giving up on your goals because other people think they are unrealistic is no way to live your life.

How to you overcome the dream killers in your life? How do you achieve your objectives.

You may want to start with choosing who you spend your time with. If you want to be self-motivated, you’ve got to spend time with other people who are self-motivated. The same goes for the other aspects of success.

If the dream killers in your life are close relatives, and long time friends, try keeping your business goals to yourself for a while until you get going. By the time you’ve had a little success, they will probably be a lot more supportive and help you achieve effective time management.

Finally, the best way to overcome the dream killers in your life is to be confident in yourself and your goals. If you are truly confident in yourself and your ideas, then no one can stop you.

Keep your goals and dreams in front of you all the time. They will be your motivation, when some of your "well-meaning friend" try to discourage you.

Don’t let anyone steal YOUR DREAM!
