Michelin Motorcycle Power One Race Tire

July 30th, 2010

Michelin has announced the new Power One race tire for motorcycles.
Let’s get acquainted with the new Power One as it utilizes a host of new technologies, we’ll start with here with “2CT” tech, the Power One employs what Michelin calls MRSE (Michelin Racing Synthetic Elastomers) compounds combined with HTSC (High Tech Synthetic Compound) resins. The idea is that Michelin’s particular mixture of compounds is aimed at providing fast warm-up times while offering great grip characteristics.

Another technology is the new NST (Near Slick Technology). The minimal tread patters covers only 5% of the tire’s surface, which really means that the tire is 95% slick, which maximizes the rubber patch ensuring outstanding contact with the road. Michelin claims the resulting traction helps facilitate lean angles approaching 60 degrees, which is incredible since these lean angles were not obtainable for the general riding public a few years ago.

However, these tires were designed as track day tires and for road racing. They are not optimal for everyday street use because they need to generate sufficient heat to accomplish maximum grip. In addition, they are not going to be ideal for wet riding conditions as the 95% slick pattern will only make wet weather riding a true white knuckle experience. Also, the will not last in terms of mileage; these tires are meant for winning races or making fast laps around a closed racing circuit (track day).
So, to sum it all up, the new Power One incorporates a new dual-compound technology in one tire. The hardest compound of rubber hardness/grip is found in the center. The softer compound is on each side of the tire where you need it the most for traction at extreme lean angles. These new Power One tires change the game when it comes to performance. Runing Shoes – workout basics

July 29th, 2010

Running shoes can help you workout better!

When you are shopping for running shoes, you probably don’t want to go with the cheapest pair you can find. They may feel good for a bit, but they are going to be hurting your feet soon enough. There is really no need to go out and buy the most expensive pair you find, as that is not always the best pair for your feet either.

Are you satisfied with your shoes?

You want to look in all price ranges and see what appeals to your eye, and then try those running shoes on first.

What brands of shoes do you like?

You should tie them up as you would when using them, and give them a good workout in the store. You can’t tell if they are good unless you walk around in them, and even jump a few times.

Tips to Finding the Best in an Online Running Shoes Sale

July 28th, 2010

Running shoes are a basic need in modern day lifestyles, especially now that exercises have been forced down our throats as a precondition of healthy living. It is not a wonder to find people of all ages, body sizes, skin colors, income levels and social status, all converging at a running shoes sale in search of the best shoes at bargain prices. How to hand-pick the finest running shoes during a sale has become vital to many. How good are you at shopping for running shoes yourself? Well, the following tips will make you a guru in online running shoes sales.

The first thing to note is that the term ‘best running shoes’ is a subjective description that will vary across individuals. Everyone has a unique foot, a unique stride, a unique running style and with all these uniqueness, a unique requirement for a running shoe. So the choice of the best running shoes will be an individual thing, one guided by your requirements, your taste and your preference. Nonetheless, during an online running shoes sale, a few guidelines will apply universally. First off, have a ruler or tape measure to calculate your precise foot size.

Once you have established which sizes will be a perfect fit, you are ready to hit the online stores. There are a host of online shoe stores today some of which offer questionable quality. It is your responsibility to select a shoe store of repute and one with a tradition of stocking only the best shoe quality. Visit the testimonials page to see how past customers feel about the shoes they purchased. You will be better advised to visit stores targeting buyers of athletic and sports shoes, since these are the highest quality running shoes available today. Again, select a store that allows product reviews by their past customers who have already tried their shoes.

Having selected the best running shoes sales store, start by checking the current feet size against size charts available in the online shoe stores. The quality of a shoe always begins with how well it fits your feet since even the best running shoes in the world will be a pain if worn by the wrong feet. As such be sure that the shoe you search for is exactly your current feet size. Today, we have some running shoes in half sizes to make for the most perfect fit.

You should also read as much of running shoes’ reviews from objective review sites readily accessible online today. This will give you a clue to what kind or make of running shoes to look for in your store of choice. It is always advisable to consider the world’s top rated running shoes like Nike Air Jordan’s, Asics Gel Kayano, Brooks Adrenaline, Mizuno Wave Rider etc which are designed with stabilizing overpronators and are recommended by most physical therapists. Of importance, check for running shoes reputed for varying widths (i.e. Asics Gel Kayano, Mizuno Wave Rider) and those reputed for being lightweight (i.e. New Balance 902). Also note the running shoes that are focused on performance and runner’s support (i.e. Adidas, Nike, Saucony etc) instead of the stylish fashion.

With this knowledge, you will be better placed in selecting the running shoe that fits your needs and requirements, both stylishly and comfortably at any running shoes sale. Do not buy too many running shoes in the same size since with age, your feet size also changes. Ideally, you ought to replace your running shoes after every six months or so, that is twice a year. The frequency of change will however be dependent on the mileage you cover in a certain period since this is what determines their wear and tear.

Exercise and Food

July 24th, 2010

Have you ever experienced a twinge of envy as you observe that some of your friends seem to never engage in the ‘battle of the bulge’, always looking fit and trim? True, some few individuals are genetically ‘lucky’, seemingly eating whatever they like and not gaining an ounce. But, really, such people are rare. Most people who don’t seem to ever need to diet have a secret – a balanced exercise and food program. While this may sound over-simplistic, it’s really the best way to achieve optimum health and a positive image in the mirror. Let’s see how you can, by forming a few new habits, be one of those people – lucky, yes, and by design.

Our formula for a balanced exercise and food program puts equal emphasis on both factors. Many people torment themselves with a stringent diet more amenable to a bird, while totally neglecting the exercise that goes hand in hand with getting and staying healthy, trim and fit. So we’ll begin with a few facts on the merits of exercise.

In the ‘old days’, when Grandpa walked two miles uphill, both to and from school, people really didn’t need to give much thought to getting adequate exercise – it was a natural result of necessarily active living. Today, most of us live a sedentary lifestyle … instead of getting up at the crack of dawn to milk the cows, feed the chickens and walk those two miles uphill to school, we grab a cup of Joe – and perhaps a donut – and rush off in our cars or to the metro and on to our offices. While our days may be filled with stressful situations, we let our bodies languish as we fret in the chair at the desk. This sort of routine is obviously not a balanced regimen of exercise and food choices. While there may not be a cow or chicken in sight of your home, there are nonetheless so many opportunities for exercise. When was the last time you took a walk? Rode a bike? Climbed the stairs, or roller-skated? Much more fun than milking a cow and a good workout for all of your muscles, a boon to your cardiovascular and respiratory health and great for a vibrant, glowing complexion. So many studies have demonstrated the huge benefits of just a half-hour of exercise, 4-5 times each week, that it’s indisputably one of the best regimens you can easily work in to your daily life.

As said before, but worth the repetition, exercise and food go hand in hand. Healthy food choices are the other half of this equation, and it’s not nearly as difficult as you might think. When you shop for food, stuff your basket first with foods that are nutritious and healthful. As for the ‘goodies’, such as ice cream, candy, chips, dip and the like, try to indulge in fewer of these ‘empty’ foods, week by week. If you’ve been known to down a bag of cookies in a single sitting, have a stern talk with yourself … limit your intake to a few cookies – and that, just a couple of times a week. The gradual decline in the consumption of these foods will benefit you in the long run.

The exercise and food equation really is simple … it’s a matter of moderation and balance. Try it, you’ll (eventually) like it! Especially when you get on the scale and look in that full-length mirror!

How to Get Cheap Tickets for Sports Online

July 22nd, 2010

Many a times, you might be willing to go to the local big-time game but the funds are low. You find yourself foregoing a possible fun evening because you cannot afford the overpriced tickets for a local sports event. At other times, even when you attend such games, you always regret during and after the game for having spent so much money on luxury.

This does not have to be the case anymore though. Today, you can get cheap tickets for sports easily. The internet is an enormous storehouse for almost everything you may wish for and at a price you will most certainly afford. Many online forums retail sports tickets at very reasonable prices today. You no longer have to spend the worth of your limbs for a couple of tickets. All you need to know is where to look for the cheap tickets for sports and when to look for them.

To begin with, it is important to decide on the sporting event to attend. Almost every weekend will have a major event and you cannot attend them all. Choose which sport to watch, the team to support and the match to attend beforehand. Once you know the date and venue of the event, it will be easier to search for cheap tickets. It is also important to determine the minimal and maximal price range the tickets for sports may cost.

Next, you have to decide where to sit during the event since the closer to the field you are, then the more expensive the tickets will be. If you are in need of cheap tickets for sports, any sport, then the upper level seats or the seats closest to the stadium’s stop will be the optimal choice (cheapest, that is).

With this in mind, it is now time to visit the internet. Hit your favorite search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing, MSN etc) and type in the city of the sporting event you want to attend, followed by the date and venue of event. After these entries, type the words ‘cheap tickets’ and begin the search. You can also narrow the search parameters by adding the teams participating.
The search results will display numerous forums from which you can buy cheap tickets for sports. Avoid the spam posts by closing any website that simply links you to another website. Again, avoid the broker sites that inflate the ticket prices and still add a fee charge. Remember to compare different sites and their prices for the same tickets such that you can settle for the cheapest.

If you still cannot find reasonably priced tickets for sports online, the best next alternative is to walk down to the particular hosting stadium and enquiring from the ticketing window attendant. This is usually the lowest rate you can get on the tickets. With these tips, you are assured that you will always get the cheapest tickets for sports for any event you desire and that the cost will not make you flinch, before, during or after attending the event.

The Barbell Curl

When it comes to all of the bicep building exercises making the rounds in the gyms these days, my hand down favorite has to be the barbell curl. Not only is it a classic exercise (the greats like Arnold and Lou performed barbell curls regularly), but it’s simple and amazingly effective for stimulating muscle growth in your arms. In fact, whenever anyone asks me how they can get bigger biceps, I always point them towards barbell curls. Most of the time they make strange faces at me and walk away disappointed, but they the truth of the matter is that a heavy set of barbell curls is the best way build big biceps fast.

The Right Body Building Routine For The Swimsuit Season

July 8th, 2010

Everyone wants to look good. Some have different versions of what “good” means, but in general, most of us today find a lean, somewhat athletic look to be what’s attractive. Obviously there’s a degree of difference when it comes to what works for us and what doesn’t, but for the purposes of this article, let’s all just assume that we want to look like Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie.

So then the challenge is to find the right body building routine. Remember that, while we all have different ideas of what’s the most attractive and what isn’t, our bodies also have different ideas or responses to what works and what doesn’t. Take me, for example. I’m a pretty fit guy, six foot tall and one hundred seventy five pounds. I’m not ripped or anything, but I’m not exactly soft like the pillsbury dough boy.

And if I wanted to become ripped… my body would just laugh and laugh at me. Believe me, I’ve tried. I went through several different body building routine techniques throughout my twenties, doing everything from low-weight high-reps to the reverse. Eating a diet high in protein, swearing off of meat, swearing off of machines and going au natural with nothing but push ups, sit ups and jogging… and through it all, my body stayed roughly the same size and shape. This isn’t to say that I didn’t get stronger or in better “shape” – I increased my bench press from 170 to 255 and my mile from eight minutes twenty seconds to six minutes and twelve – but my body never showed it beyond a slight thickening of the limbs.

So if you want to find the right body building routine for yourself, you have to be realistic about what you’re looking for. And for most of us, with spring coming up, that means shedding a layer or three of winter fat.

As you probably well know, that’s not the easiest thing to do. Not only is there the mental hurdle of doing your daily body building routine, but you’re probably going to have to couple it with scaling back on the types of treats that we all like to eat occasionally. No more chocolates, no more beer (vodka + club soda will get you just as hammered and has half the calories), no more steak and potatoes.

And when it comes to your body building routine, you’ll also want to consider that, if you’re really trying to drop those last five pounds, you really have to work your whole body. That means while riding the stationary bike is good, going jogging is better. And while jogging is good, doing the rowing machine is even better than that. But at the top of the heap for weight loss body building routine is doing full-body calisthenics like kick boxing. Not only does this improve cardio and flexibility, it also makes it so that your body can’t get used to one particular type of work-out and store your fat somewhere else.

Bent Over Row Pointers

July 6th, 2010

While performing the bent over row exercise, you should feel the muscles in your upper back working. The lats are located along both sides of the spine along your back. In order to ensure that you are focusing on the lats properly, it helps to visualize the muscles that you are using (or supposed to be using) and to attempt to pull your shoulder blades up and back at the top of the exercise, this will force your latissimus dorsi to contract if it isn’t already engaged. Once you feel the muscles that are supposed to be performing the bulk of the work during bent over rows, then it becomes easier to make small adjustments to your form to ensure that the right muscles are being targeted.

Uncovering Bodybuilding Programs

July 4th, 2010

The muscle building process is completely individual. There are literally thousands of ways to go about making it happen. What I’ve noticed over the years is that long term muscle building success is typically a function of someone having access to the right bodybuilding information and the right time, in a format that they can identify with. You have to like your workouts to the point of getting excited even thinking about hitting the gym. You have to read and re-read each and every line in your chosen bodybuilding programs until you completely understand what you need to be doing to build muscle mass. And you need to believe that your program will actually lead you towards your goals.

Slim Down Fast with Fat Burning Pills

July 3rd, 2010

I’ve been battling my weight for years now. I try to live a healthy lifestyle, and yet I simply cannot drop these last 10 pounds to get down to my target. What’s worse, that extra weight is concentrated in a band of flab right at my lower abdomen. There’s no hiding something like that! Despite my exercise regimen that includes cardio five times a week and weightlifting three times a week, plus a low-fat, calorie restricted diet, I’ve been stuck at this plateau for far too long. I think it’s finally time to give some supplements a try, so I’m looking for good fat burning pills right now.

Fat burning pills can help you lose weight fast by giving your metabolism a jump-start. When your metabolism is fired up, you burn through calories a lot faster, which eventually has a positive impact on your weight. I sometimes feel as though I’m just on the cusp of a dieting breakthrough, so I have a feeling that some effective fat burning pills will help put me over that edge. Once I slim down, I’ll probably continue using supplements on a maintenance basis so I never have to go through this whole frustrating ordeal again.

There are lots of fat burning pills on the market today, which makes it difficult for someone like me — someone who has never tried these products before — to make an informed choice. So before I even think about spending my money, I’m going to have to sit down and read through a bunch of diet pill reviews to see what brands have worked for other people. Fortunately for consumers, there are a number of websites that carry these unbiased customer reviews. All I have to do is set aside an hour or two to sift through enough of them to get a general idea of which fat burning pills would be worth a try.

Once I identify a product that I want to purchase, I can do some quick price comparisons to make sure I get the best deal in terms of base price and shipping. Some web retailers offer special discounts on fat burning pills when you buy two or more bottles at once, but I think in this case I want to make sure the product lives up to my expectations before I stock up on large quantities.

I must say that I’m pretty excited about the prospect of adding fat burning pills to my fitness and health routine. I truly think I’m one of those people that needs a bit of a boost to get over that final hump, so hopefully I’m on the right track here. Seriously, if a diet pill can help me attain my weight goals, I’d be willing to pay a decent amount for it!

What to Look For in new Running Shoes?

July 3rd, 2010

There are a lot of factors that go into choosing running shoes. You not only have to find a pair that are comfortable, but you need a pair that are built to do what you need, whether it’s speed, distance running, indoor, track or trail running.

Bargain shopping for discount running shoes can be a big mistake. The right pair of running shoes is something that you simply can’t skimp on. Wearing the wrong pair of shoes can result in devastatingly painful injuries.

Do you know your foot type? Do you have fallen arches or high arches? What about your gait? Are you pronate or supinate? Does your foot roll inwards, how much? When you put your foot down does it stay neutral? Or does it stay on the outside? This will make a huge difference when finding the best running shoes.

Once you find the right shoe you can shop around for the best price; running shoes ratings and running shoes reviews are great places to check to see which stores are offering good deals. Reviews are good places to read about different stores and see which ones are the most helpful when it comes to helping you find the best pair of shoes.

Now that you know the most important things about finding the best running shoes you can apply your knowledge to walking shoes as well. Running a Marathon for the First Time

July 1st, 2010

How does one prepare to take on one’s first marathon? Let’s say that you are someone who’s put in a certain amount of work for months now – which is to say, that you can do maybe 25 miles runing every week. If you aren’t a professional, and if you haven’t a coach lined up to whisper hard-core professional advice in your ear every now and then, how is it that you build yourself up for your big moment? Consider the kind of results that lamateur runners actually do get in marathons all around the country – for instance, the male runner who won the New York City Marathon last time around and got it in under two hours and 10 minutes. The fastest woman did it in under two and half hours. If you would like to at least keep within eyeshot of runners like that, how is it that you go about preparing? What does it take to prepare for running a marathon for the first time?

You should probably only attempt a marathon if you have been clocking 25 miles every week for some time. With three months to go before the event is upon you, it is time to begin to take it seriously. It is time to go out on more punishing runs, and try to put some extra speed into it, perhaps with interval training. The secret of getting your body ready for longer and faster times is to ramp it up really slowly. Doctors who specialize in physiology recommend that you never try to take it up more than 5% of your regular run at a time. Even seasoned athletes can injure their bodies if they try to build up their regimen too quickly. If you do no more than 4 miles a day, make sure that you don’t jump up to, say, 10 miles a day, over the course of just one week. If you’ve been a casual runner all this while, you will probably need to take at least six months to prepare yourself with a basic level of physical fitness; preparing to go running a marathon should take you a year.

The speed part of running a marathon comes, surprisingly, with training with sprints. The more power your body begins to gain through this kind of training, the better you will be able to make it when you run long distances. It might be tempting to look at the kind of times the best marathon runners clock each time they enter a competition. But it would be dangerous to try to attempt that, unless you have a year to prepare. You can certainly find exceptions among highly trained sportspeople though. Consider this: when Lance Armstrong, the champion bicycle racer decided to take up the marathon, he clocked about three hours. The fact that he was in peak physical shape and rode on the Tour de France in bruising conditions and won, didn’t make him any better disposed to winning the marathon than anyone else. If, stamina wise, you find that you aren’t quite as good as Lance Armstrong, you’ll probably have to wait much longer before you try.

Once you do reach a certain level of excellent physical shape and stamina, you’ll need to do a degree of research to find out how best to make use of your time at your exercises. Magazines like Runners World should be required reading for preparations such as this. You could also sign up with your local Road Runners Club to begin to get into the spirit of it. Running a marathon is all about keeping your eye on the ring. It is all about endless training under bruising conditions. If you have the heart for this, you could be like a lot of talented runners – you could join their ranks.

On the other hand, adventure tourism refers to activities and tourist spots that either do not attract or are not accessible to the majority of travelers. It may be because the area under consideration is remote or the offered activities are hard and difficult, or the trip is simply not suited to the majority of travelers.
